Sponsor a wheelchair

The number of disabled children in Lindi is proportionately much higher than we see in the UK. This is due to limited access to maternal healthcare, complications during childbirth, poverty and malnutrition. High rates of birth asphyxia (lack of oxygen) and birth trauma can result in conditions like cerebral palsy.

For disabled children, the future is bleak for them in Lindi. Parents are forced to work to provide for their families, leaving children at home isolated from other children and schooling.

Access to a wheelchair can enable a child to attend school, socialise with other children and integrate more readily into society. Friends of Lindi have contributed to four wheelchairs, transforming the lives of disabled children.

We are appealing for funds to buy wheelchairs to help more children. Please donate so that we can bring joy to more children and the wider community
